There’s a new site called 10Questions.com, where people submit questions to the candidates then internet users vote for the top 10 questions. The top 10 questions will then actually be answered by the candidates. Each IP can only vote yea or nay for each question, so no stuffing the ballot box. Without extra computers, anyway. So, do you have a burning question for our presidential hopefuls?

Not sure when your Primary will be? The NY Times has a very clear schedule - not only of when Dems and Reps will vote, but what the candidates will need to ensure victory. Check it out - and stay informed!

Another poll results site: Leading Presidential Polls 2008. This one is much more user friendly than pollingreport.com, and has lots of interactive polls for readers as well. You can also select specific state polls, and specific candidate polls. Check it out!

Looking for interesting debates? Check out The Soccer Mom Vote, a blog with interesting articles and good clean debates in the comments. Fun reading, and you might find some good challenges to your current thinking - whatever it might be.

There’s a reason why so many American’s list Jon Stewart as their #1 news source. Check out Comedy Central’s Indecision2008.com for some levity amongst all the soapboxes.

If you haven’t seen the YouChoose ‘08 site on YouTube, you should check it out. You can pick an issue, and then watch a video of each candidate giving their views on the issue. If the candidate hasn’t posted a response, their icon will remain grey. Or you can go by candidate and watch all their videos. OR, you can post a question, and have it answered by a candidate! I’d love to hear from anyone that’s actually posted a video question and received a response.

You can also post responses to the candidates’ answers. Here’s a response to the question “What should our energy policy be?” Embedded video was unavailable, but here’s the link.

Like keeping up with the latest political polls? Here’s a great site - not too many bells and whistles, just current polling info.

Over the next week or so, I’m going to be making a lot of changes to this site. I’ll be moving away from opinions and rhetoric, and making this into a truly useful site. That’s my hope, anyway. Please excuse my flawed layouts as I teach myself how to fix the code. I hope you’ll keep checking back for useful content. Thanks for stopping by!

Here’s a fun site: SelectSmart.com. You answer the multiple-choice questions (like a Cosmo quiz) and the selector spits out the presidential candidate that best matches your views. Give it a try! I’d love to hear how your results compare to what you already thought.

How is it possible that some candidates like Hillary and Rudy are raising upwards of 20 million, and some candidates like Kucinich and Hunter have yet to break the million dollar mark. Is this election really going to boil down to money? Take a look at the numbers, provided by the Center for Responsive Politics.

center for responsive politics logoOther points of interest on OpenSecrets.org include selected industry donations and who they’re going to. For example, big oil&gas have given almost half a mil to Rudy, and Hillary is their third highest recipient. So the Dems are supported by oil&gas too. Suprise suprise. In fact, Rudy is the biggest recipient of donations from industries I would call vices: tobacco, casinos/gambling and oil & gas. Mitt is the #1 recipient of big pharma donations. Not surprisingly, both Barack and Hillary have huge contributions form a category called TV/movies/music. I’m guessing Oprah and Ellen are in that group.

I can see I’m not being objective here. I guess I find all the money coming in seedy at best. What promises are being made in exchange for these huge amounts of money changing hands? And worse, will money decide this election?

Man, I hope not.
